There are many water resources in Blagoevgrad: a clear cold river runs through the city, and in the center there are mineral springs with mineral water that makes the skin silky like velvet, brings peace and delight. In the surrounding area you will find lakes and rivers, and in the summer you can cool off also in an outdoor pool.

"Endowed with mountains and plains, and in addition there are also warm springs, which are not only extremely suitable for pleasure, but also for health and treatment of the body" - say about their birthplace the Roman citizens living about 2000 years ago in the then city of Scaptopara, located in today's Blagoevgrad. River
In the last centuries of Ottoman empire, the Bistrica River separated the Bulgarian hamlet of Varosha from the Turkish part of the city. Today, beautiful bridges connect the two banks in the central part of Blagoevgrad. After a major flood in 1954, large granite walls and a dam were built on both banks of the river, which became a favorite place for the residents of Blagoevgrad in the summer.

RIVER BEACH
If the weather is hot, don't hesitate to put on your bathing suit and jump in the clear waters of the Bistrica River. We recommend heading north from the central area. In several places, the river forms rivulets, about 1-2 meters deep. A real shower of mountain water awaits you at the "Barages", where you will certainly not be alone on hot days.
OUTDOOR POOLS IN BLAGOEVGRAD
The water park in Blagoevgrad has not been operating since 2019, but only 7 km from the city is the Orbita Hotel, which offers two outdoor outdoor pools with a temperature of 27 C. The large one is 25 x 8 meters and 1.40 m deep, and the children's pool - 6 x 3 meters, 0.60 meters deep. All this amidst a mountain panorama and Rila air.

LAKES AROUND BLAGOEVGRAD
The Stoykovtsi Lake next to the village of Logodaj is one of the most pleasant water attractions in the Blagoevgrad region. Less than half an hour from the capital of the South West, there are great opportunities to walk, fish or cool off in the waters of the dam.
