About us
This website was born out of our desire to make Blagoevgrad more visible and attractive, and to help the residents of Blagoevgrad easily find information about leisure opportunities.
The main inspiration behind the website is Sibila Tasheva — a parent, entrepreneur, traveler, writer, climber, skier, legal professional. After many years in Germany, Sibila returned to Bulgaria and chose Blagoevgrad as her new home. Her love for the region sparked the desire to showcase its beauty and hidden gems to people near and far. This marked the beginning of the website www.blagoevgrad.online. In Blagoevgrad, she noticed that she often found out about interesting events after they had already taken place. That’s why she took on the task of creating and maintaining an Event Calendar for the city and the region.
Why is it worth visiting or living in Blagoevgrad? Here, you’ll find a colorful variety all in one place – everything within walking distance. For example: houses from the Bulgarian National Revival period, beautiful bridges, a large communist-era square reminiscent of the fountains in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia, a spacious pedestrian area with cafés and small restaurants, an American campus, a Bulgarian university, a river beach, and a park at the foot of the Rila Mountains.
